Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach Conservation Outlooks: Protecting Nuchimiyuschiiy

Come meet the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach and discover the territory around Cambrian and Nachicapau Lakes! Jeremy Einish, member of the Naskapi Nation Council will speak about his community’s history, Nuschimiyuschiiy (the traditional territory), and the community's conservation efforts to protect the Cambrian and Nachicapau Lakes region. Then, Véronique Bussières, SNAP Quebec’s Director of Biocultural Conservation will provide a perspective on Indigenous-led conservation within the new global framework for biodiversity to be adopted at COP15.

This event is organized in partnership with SNAP Quebec, who supports the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach in their conservation efforts.

The conference will take place in the Living Generations Space, whose programming is hosted by the Collectif COP15.
